Job Description Summary Administers the CAD/PLM Engineering Software on behalf of the IT department. Acts as the liaison with the Engineering department. Serves the technical needs of the engineers and engineering management, whilst operating within the guidelines of IT in order to provide rigorous adherence to technology change management, troubleshooting, standardization and development of new features. Essential Duties and Responsibilities o Implements Engineering Computer Aided Design (CAD) software applications and systems. o Installs new CAD software, upgrades and patches based on external and internal customer engineering requirements in accordance with GTI change management practices. o Investigates, confirms and develops current and new CAD operation flows for end users to increase productivity and system effectiveness. o Provides helpdesk support for Engineering IT related issues including troubleshooting and software problems. o Works closely with Development Manager to ensure coordinated PLM software updates, useable functionality, testing and user training. o Participates in Scrum meetings with development team. o Regularly acts as Product Owner for PLM and CAD development. o Detects, diagnoses and resolves client-server operating system and hardware related problems. o Analyzes and resolves problems associated with Engineering and CAD software applications and high performance computer hardware. o Performs daily operational support for IT Systems such as client system deployment, user management, printing/plotting, data translations and data transfers. o Develops technical system documentation for current and newly implemented systems. o Participates in projects to enhance the Engineering and CAD software and hardware systems by investigating, evaluating and implementing technical solutions. o Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts. o Other duties as assigned. Complementary Description Summary of Education, Experience & Certification Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering with a minimum of five years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Autodesk 'Vault' preferred. Aviation background and aircraft interior experience preferred. Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes. Job Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities o Ability to introduce a new CAD & PLM system into an engineering department. o Knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor. o AutoCAD experience, preferably VIP, Mod or re-configurations. o Experience creating engineering drawings using feature-based CAD systems (preferably Inventor or SolidWorks). o Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards. o Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and manufacturing technique design. o Proficient in SQL server admin for Vault Workgroup. o Proficient in VBA, VB.NET, visual basic programming, API and customization. o Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team. o Strong communication and problem-solving skills. o Strong time-management and organizational skills. o Ability to adhere to budget and project schedules. o Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus. o Ability to travel as required. o Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
System & Network AdministrationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
