Non-Profit Client Payee Specialist

Responsibilities:
Provide financial services that serve client needs and accurately accounts for their funds.
Ensure client SSA records are current, applications are filed, and monthly deposits are received Help clients with bill payments, check writing and discretionary funds Annually or periodically update client SSA Representative Payee Agreements and records Maintain client checking account ledgers using QuickBooks Collect client receipts and deposit slips; submit for monthly bank statement reconciliations Keep accurate and organized files for each client File reports for Social Security, WA DSHS, or other governmental agencies Assist with annual Social Security Administration audits Promote company representative payee services and help with the growth of the program Receive client calls and help them understand their SSA income, expenses and budget Keep professional working relationships with clients, families, friends or social workers Participate in staff meetings; complete individual trainings and maintain certifications such as First Aid/CPR, Blood borne pathogens, Mandated reporter Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of personal financial management and accounting principles Experience with banking, checking account management, and bank statement reconciliations Comfort with financial management software such as QuickBooks or Quicken Solid mathematical aptitude for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Professional, effective and adaptable verbal communication skills Solid organization skills for client records and transaction management.
Ability to read and understand SSA and WA DSHS laws, policies, procedures and practices.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position generally works in an office setting with exposure to moderate noise volumes.
This position will work with general office equipment such as computers, fax machines, or telephones.
There is minimal exposure to dust, copier or printer toner, general household chemicals within the office.
This position requires an ability to operate a personal computer, verbally interact with clients and read and understand documents.
This position will operate an automobile to perform the essential functions of this position, therefore the use of vision and hearing are required for safety.
Work sites may have several flights of stairs.
Adaptive equipment may be used as long as physical safety is ensured at all times.
Employees may be exposed to inclement weather when traveling.
Who We're Looking For:
At least 18 years of age Associate degree and at least two years of experience in social services, banking, or financial services Valid Washington State drivers' license, current automobile insurance and qualifying driving record Background inquiry clearance from an authorized state agency Compensation and

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
