Design and develop monitoring solutions using the HP Business Service Management application. Work includes working with business analysts and internal customers to design and develop end to end monitoring solutions primarily through VUGEN Scripting in the HP BSM application though may also including working on other monitoring tools including HP Site Scope, CA Wily, and IBM Tealeaf. Provide technical and operational support of IT monitoring tools during business hours for internal customers' intelligence systems, as required, to deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives. The Developer acts as the development and technical lead on complex projects, contributing to strategic vision and technical decisions, participating in vendor analysis and selection projects, introducing process improvements, completing proof of concept projects for introduction of changes to our architecture, and providing oversight on the work of other technical staff.
- Utilize planning and leadership skills to oversee development deliverables, as required, to implement new systems capabilities.
- Translate business, and functional requirements into documented technical and architectural specifications.
- Utilize development skills to build (code) and unit test new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include code builds and documented unit test results.
- Develop application support documentation as required by the application support teams for acceptance of systems changes into production.
- Build and unit test production deployment packages and implementation plans for scheduled systems enhancements.
- Facilitate/lead reviews (walkthroughs) of technical specifications and program code with other members of the technical team, communicating design, requirements, feature set, functionality and limitations of systems/applications to team and development lead.
SKILLS:
Minimum Required Skills/Competencies: 5
years of experience working with IT monitoring solutions including the HP suite of applications (BSM, SiteScope, or Operations Manager), CA Wily, or IBM Tealeaf. 5
years of development experience primarily with Scripting. Displays strong interpersonal communication skills to facilitate working on cross team projects. Preferred skills: Strong UNIX and Windows OS administration experience. Strong Oracle and SQL database experience including development of SQL scripts. Experience developing with Java/Groovy Scripting, Perl/Shell Scripting, or C programming. Knowledge of IP network design.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
