Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions. In this position, you will serve as an expert Logistics Management Specialist with responsibility for performing work that involves planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support a specified mission or other designated program. Typical assignments include:
Supporting, developing, and implementing strategic and tactical logistics contingency plans, policies and programs to ensure that customers will receive the resources required for support to disaster operations both expeditiously and economically. Participating in collaborative arrangements and maintain relationships with counterparts, such as HQ Logistics Plans and Exercises Division, other Regional Logistics Management Specialist LNOs, and State counterparts. Writing plans and other written deliverables, conducting analyses, and developing concept of operations that may result in new processes, guidelines, and that may have a profound effect on program or mission capabilities and/or operating procedures. Reviewing new and established directives, instructions, regulations and other policy deployment documents for potential impact on major project elements, management issues, project plans, policies, objectives, work operations and outcomes. Working in support of field operations such as stand up of Joint Field Offices (JFOs), Staging Areas, deployment of logistics staff, and staffing the Regional Response Coordination Center RRCC), etc. Serving as Logistics Section Chief during activation of the RRCC. The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. You qualify for this position at the GS-13 level (starting salary $99,941) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience developing and writing plans or other written products to enhance logistics operations for deliberate planning efforts (e.g. Catastrophic plans, development concepts of operations, preed mission assignments), AND Experience in the management, coordination and planning of the movement of resources in support of major disaster operations or other significant contingency operation. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and provides valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.NOTE:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
